"MUSIC FOR VOICE & GUITAR" - SUNGJI KIM & STANLEY ALEXANDROWICZ
A highlight of 2005-06 Music of Invention season, soprano Sungji Kim and guitarist Stanley Alexandrowicz return with a different program of new music performances. Several premieres and newly completed works will be featured, including Carlton Wilkinson's 2006 settings of poems by John Falk, from his book "The Snow and Other Guises."
Kim and Alexandrowicz have been performing together as a duo to great success for almost a decade. A "silvery voiced" singer (Opera Magazine), soprano Sungji Kim has quickly gained worldwide recognition as a singer equally adept in opera, recital, concert, and contemporary music. Classical Guitarist Stanley Alexandrowicz is internationally renowned for his virtuosic musicality, insightful interpretations, and refined guitarism. They join forces for a concert of rare delicacy and power, with a repertoire ranging from the Renaissance and Classical periods, to Contemporary pieces written specifically for their unique musical gifts.
