2004-05 marks the premiere season of the
Music of Invention Concert Series
at the Black Box of Asbury Park. For this eight-concert series (once a
month Oct.-May, 8 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month.) I have selected performers/composers of diverse backgrounds who, whatever their stylistic interests or background might be, tend to approach music from an elemental level, rather than following the dictates of the established style. Performers so far have included:
FEBRUARY 17: Stanley Alexandrowicz, classical guitarist Stanley performs solo classical guitar work mostly of the last 20 years. He has discovered and commissioned many composers and performed hundreds of premieres. His first CD, American Pluck, is due to be released on Albany Records later this year. This program will include Division by Four Moons, a work I wrote for him, and works by Kendall Kennison and Eric Sessler and others. For the complete press release, visit www.asburymusic.com.
